Turn, I want you to Live!

Say to them, ‘As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord , I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! Why will you die, people of Israel?’
Ezekiel 33:11 NIV

God is the same yesterday today and forever and the same God if the old testament is the same God that sent his son Jesus.

Even then he wanted them to turn.
He sents his prophets because he wants to warn people to turn and not to condemn them.

Condemnation is from the enemy.
Conviction is from the Holy Spirit.

The whole point of preaching repentance is not one out of self-righteousness. Not a “I am saved but you are not” posture but rather one of a loving plea for your soul.

This has always been God’s heart. He takes NO PLEASURE in seeing anyone perish in wicknedness. He is JUST and Righteous and had to punish wicknedness and sin! But he knew that no matter how we tried to be righteous on our own efforts, we have all still fallen short and all have sinned.

As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one;  there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God.  All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.”
Romans 3:10‭-‬12 NIV

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Romans 3:23 NIV

This is why he sent Jesus Christ. He is the only perfect man without sin and who was completely obedient and kept all the ways of God. He who knew no sin became sin so that we could be the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus!

“I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.
Isaiah 43:25 NIV

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
2 Corinthians 5:21 NIV

His desire is that NONE perish because he takes absolutely no pleasure in seeing the death of the wicked and wants all to TURN so they can be saved.

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
2 Peter 3:9 NIV
https://2peter.bible/2-peter-3-9

God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of it. Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear.
Acts 2:32‭-‬33 NIV
https://bible.com/bible/111/act.2.32-33.NIV

When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”

Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”

With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.”

Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.
