Today marks the beginning of a new era because if Zoe has to sleep earlier, I put both kids to sleep separately and that means 6 books and 2 bible studies, individual time with the both of them again which is so nice.

We haven’t played scrabble in a while… it is hard to play a game like this when your 2 year old also wants to play! 藍

We have a new bedtime routine that includes reading from the bible before books.

I have realised that honestly children’s bible stories are just stories that leave a whole lot of what God is really saying out. If we only read those kids baby bibles they won’t understand who God only but that for example the animals went into the ark 2 by 2. Why did God save Noah? Why was there even a flood? When reading Genesis again recently it really jumped at me that God was so sad because every inclination of the thoughts of their hearts were evil. Woah. Hold it there!

“The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled.”

Can you imagine that God could have feelings of regret and being DEEPLY TROUBLED?  It is not like he was happy to have to do this but the people were SO wicked and corrupted with every inclination of evil. When he first made adam and eve, he said let us make mankind in our image! And God is a holy holy holy perfect just and loving and righteous God. But sin had infested and infected an entire world so badly to the point that only Noah and his family were not infected.

I am thinking of the movie “World War Z” where the whole world is infected with a virus that makes them zombies. These zombies start infecting other zombies and soon the entire world … is infected and Brad Pitt needs to get the vaccine.

Did you know that today we are also literally all infected with the virus of sin? We were actually born with it… from the first man adam.

GOD planned for a vaccine to save us from sin and death and he decided he would take his own blood. He would give his own blood because that was the only thing that would be able to combat the virus. Holiness and his perfect love. Only blood that had NO SIN could be the vaccine for SIN.

So that today if we repent (turn away from our old ways of thinking, change our minds) from sin, through the blood of Jesus we receive forgiveness of sins and have a new life! Once dead we will live!

Before Christ saved me I was the living dead.
After Christ saved me the old me died but now i truly live because christ lives in me!

What shall we do to be saved from this virus of sin?

Peter a disciple of Jesus replied this when he was asked how to be saved. Jesus himself replied when asked how to be born again and he said by water and spirit.

Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.

How do we get born again and enter the kingdom?

Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well.

This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world.

This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

This is the one who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood.

And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. the Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement.

By water the world was born again after the flood.
By water Israel crossed through the red sea out of Egypt.
By water they crossed the Jordan river into the promiseland.
By water John the baptisr baptised Jesus in the Jordan river!

Jesus is the ark that stood in the Jordan river to allow the Israelites to cross over to the promiseland.

DID YOU KNOW that Jesus’s hebrew name is YESHUA which also means JOSHUA which means salvation?

Jesus is our salvation.
Jesus does not just lead us out of slavery.
He leads us into the promiseland and removes all the strongholds and enemies in your life that have been taking space in your land.
Jesus is the King of kings
Jesus is the Lord of Lords.
Yet he came to die…
To give us his blood.
