Since the end of last year, I started to purely read the gospels over and over again, meditating on what Jesus said. When I started to do that, it became very obvious to me that my life was not reflecting the life of one that believed.

“He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” – Mark 16:15

Daily my prayer became that I wanted my life to look like one who believed. I believe, help my unbelief God. I felt afraid and that I did not have enough faith to pray for the sick and cast out demons or really preach the gospel in it’s entirety. I was still afraid to offend people, to disappoint others or myself, because it was still about me…

Whenever I prayed asking God “HOW ?” will I ever have the faith as I once did 10 years ago when I first encountered him and dared to pray for healing and was “on fire” for Jesus not in a passive way that I have been – sharing about his love but not demonstrating his kingdom as he has commanded – He replied me very firmly “Read the bible”.

It is impossible to read the bible over and over and over again and not be filled with the truth. Things started to jump out at me that I never saw before – that the Holy Spirit is the gift that Jesus came to die so that the Father could give us the gift of the Holy Spirit, without whom we cannot live a Holy Life. It is the Spirit of Holiness that makes us Holy, and he can only come and live and make home in us when we repent, and be immersed and baptized into Jesus’s death so that we can rise with him in his resurrection to become a new creation IN CHRIST.

The Gospel is not just Jesus loves you, but to preach the gospel is to preach what Jesus told his disciples to preach. He told his disciples to preach repentance and to baptize people for the forgiveness of their sins. The first preachers were the disciples and Peter after receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost stood in front of the crowd and told them about Jesus’s death and resurrection.

“God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of it. Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised HOLY SPIRIT and has poured out what you now see and hear.” – Acts 2:32

JESUS HIMSELF RECEIVED THE PROMISED HOLY SPIRIT! And we, after being BAPTIZED INTO CHRIST, can receive the gift of the Holy Spirit as well as JESUS baptizes us with the Holy Spirit when we get baptized ( Immersed) INTO HIM !

“In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke. The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord. And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” – Joel 2:28 to 52 and Acts 2:17 to 21 ( In the Old and new testament as Peter Quoted the scripture)

When the crowd heard this message and were cut to the heart, they asked him “WHAT SHALL WE DO ???”

PETER REPLIED, ” REPENT AND BE BAPTIZED, EVERYONE OF YOU, IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF YOUR SINS, AND YOU WILL RECEIVE THE GIFT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT”

and THREE THOUSAND 3000 PEOPLE were baptized ON THAT DAY ITSELF !

As I continued to read all this in the bible over and over, I could not help but wonder how I don’t see the church today looking like the book of acts. I don’t see people receiving Christ and being baptized on the same day and being filled with the Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues and prophesying immediately like in the book of acts. I don’t see a lot of people casting out demons when it was the first thing Jesus did in the book of Mark and all over. He continually casted out demons and healed the sick and his disciples did the same. Jesus I want to follow you and I want to be a disciple was and is my prayer daily today.

What happened in the following months was God answering my prayer to show me that there are people living this life today and that are people preaching exactly what Jesus told the disciples to preach and casting out demons, healing the sick, baptizing them in the name of Jesus and filling them with the Holy Spirit! God even connected me with someone I had met 5 years ago in Bali from across the world in Europe that reached out to me again after 5 years and told me how her life had changed after she got baptized and started really living the life of following Jesus after being a “Christian” her whole life.

These few months I have started to live this life and have seen so much fruit, witnessing the personal deliverance and freedom individual’s lives when they have been baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit – some which have also been “Christians” and grew up in Church but were never truly born again.

When a Pharisee ( one that was learned in the scriptures and the laws of God during the time of Jesus and a member of the ruling council) came to Jesus, Jesus told him this:

John 3:3 “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are BORN AGAIN”

John 3:5 ” Very Truly I tell you, no one can ENTER the KINGDOM OF GOD unless they are BORN OF WATER AND THE SPIRIT” Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the SPIRIT gives birth to SPIRIT. “

John 3:7″ You should not be surprised at my saying YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN”, The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone BORN OF THE SPIRIT.”

Jesus came not to condemn the world but to save the world. It is not that he comes to condemn but whoever does not believe in him already stands condemned.

This season God has also reminded me many times to warn of his coming and to preach repentance but I had been afraid to do so until now… But I have to fear God rather than fear men because it is really the LOVE OF GOD that calls you to repent because HIS DESIRE IS THAT NONE SHOULD PERISH. ( 2 Peter 3:9)

During this Covid season, it has become more apparent than ever that we are really living in the last days and even if the “end of the world” does not happen tomorrow, next year or in the next 10 years, we are closer to it TODAY, even closer than they were during the times when the apostles were preaching.

If we think that “the last days” is not here yet and we can live life however we want and think about whether there is a God in Heaven or if Jesus is really the way then Peter’s letter here is my heart’s cry and letter to you too.

“But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”

“But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare. “

“Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.” – 2 Peter 3:8-13

There is a Judgement coming one day for all who do not come under the blood of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of our sins because God is a righteous Judge and a God of Holiness.

Anything that is not of faith in God is sin. Anything that has fallen short of the Holiness and perfection and goodness of God is sin. Anything that is not of love is sin. Jesus said even when we curse others in our hearts we have already committed murder. If we look lustfully we have already committed adultery. Sin comes from the heart and it is not only what you do on the outside but what you think and your motives and intentions on the inside. Sin is sin and there is no greater or lesser sin. NO ONE IS GOOD, ONLY GOD. Even when there was a man who called out to Jesus and said “Good Teacher”, Jesus said to him, why do you call me good? No one is good but GOD. If Jesus can say that, how can anyone think that we are “good” since we are not “bad” ?

The law in the bible was given so that we would know what sin is, so that we would know that it is impossible to be sinless for the law for “by the law no flesh shall be justified for by the law is the knowledge of sin”. Sin Entered the day that we were born as we were born in to Adam who from the beginning, disobeyed God by eating from the tree of knowledge of GOOD AND EVIL.

God told Adam and Eve that the day you eat from that tree, you shall SURELY DIE, and yet they did not immediately physically die but sin and death entered and like the first man we were born into sin and death.

BUT !!!! The WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH , but the gift of GOD is ETERNAL LIFE.

THIS IS THE GRACE OF GOD. The more we can see our sin and the need for a savior, the more we recognize what we have been saved from. It is impossible to be “good” on our own efforts or to ever keep the law. It is only by “dying to sin” by DYING WITH JESUS on the Cross, by being CO CRUCIFIED with him through BAPTISM and being baptized ( which means immersed) INTO HIM can we DIE TO SIN and it is being risen with him – to be filled with the holy spirit because it is the same holy spirit that raised Jesus from the dead that will live in you – that you live in Christ.

THIS IS THE GRACE OF GOD – that you and I were pronounced GUILTY because we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God but he made atonement for our sin through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ! That whoever believes and is Baptized INTO Christ dies with him and is therefore forgiven and dead to sin and free from being a slave to sin and death, and we live and rise with Christ and when we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit – we cannot help but have new desires to righteousness. We become more of whatever we are filled with and being led by – which is the Holy Spirit.

“And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.” – Romans 8:11

Now I want to ask you if you believe in Jesus, the same question that Paul asked disciples he found at Ephesus in the book of Acts chapter 19.

“DID YOU RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT WHEN YOU BELIEVED?”

They repented and were baptized by John to believe in Jesus but they had not yet been baptized INTO Jesus and had not heard of the Holy Spirit.

In Acts 8:14, there were some believers there who accepted Jesus but they had not yet received the Holy Spirit because the Holy Spirit had not yet come on any of them, they had simply been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then Peter and John placed their hands on them and they received the Holy Spirit.

How will you know if you have received the Holy Spirit? The same way all the apostles knew people had been baptized in the Holy Spirit – all who were baptized with the Holy Spirit started to speak in new tongues and some prophesied.

Acts 2: When they were filled with the Holy Spirit they began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

Acts 10: Peter knew the gift of the Holy Spirit had been given to the gentiles at the house of Cornelius because “While peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message. The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astonished that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the Gentiles . For they heard them speaking in tongues and praising God”

– after which Peter ordered that they be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ! ( so it did not stop there but they were born in spirit, and also through water as Jesus commanded).

Acts 16: ” Sirs, WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED?” They replied, BELIEVE IN THE LORD JESUS and YOU WILL BE SAVED – YOU AND YOUR HOUSEHOLD” this verse is always taken out of context to say that you and your whole household will be saved but missing the following verses. the whole household was saved because they all heard the word and then “IMMEDIATELY HE AND ALL HIS HOUSEHOLD WERE BAPTIZED” because he had come to believe in God – he and his whole household.

WHAT IS BAPTISM ALL ABOUT?

Firstly “See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.”

“For in Christ, all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority. “

“In him, you were also circumcised with a circumcision not performed by human hands. Your whole self ruled by the flesh was put off when you were circumcised with Christ, having been BURIED WITH HIM IN BAPTISM, IN WHICH YOU WERE ALSO RAISED WITH HIM through your faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.”

“When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.” – Colossians 2.

There is a beginning and an end in both Genesis and Revelations, there is the Garden of Eden.

From the beginning, it was always God’s intention to walk with man and have that relationship and communion but for that he also gave man a choice – to choose to obey and to choose the tree of LIFE rather than “knowledge of good and evil “.

The lie from Satan as a serpent from the beginning was that “God does not want you to be like him” that is why he does not want you to know good and evil when God had already said “let us make mankind in OUR IMAGE”.

In Revelations 22 There is an EDEN RESTORED where there will be “a river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leave of the tree are for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him.”

“THEY WILL SEE HIS FACE, and HIS NAME will be on their foreheads. THERE WILL BE NO MORE NIGHT. THEY WILL NOT NEED THE LIGHT OF A LAMP or the LIGHT OF THE SUN, for the LORD GOD WILL GIVE THEM LIGHT. And they will REIGN for ever and ever.”

“LOOK I AM COMING SOON!” My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last. The beginning and the end.”

“Blessed are those who wash their robes that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city.”

“LET THE ONE WHO IS THIRSTY COME, let the one who wishes take the FREE GIFT of the WATER OF LIFE”
