Who Is Your Safety Net?

Opening up the word today, I felt impressed to read DANIEL and flipped till i reached chapter 6 and when I read this verse it really jumped out at me.

In the face of accusation, opposition, persecution – Daniel did the very thing he knew would get him thrown into a Lion’s Den – which in other words, which would Literally get him EATEN ALIVE – He PRAYED to GOD.

3 times a day he got on his knees and prayed, even when he knew it would be at the cost of being eaten alive by lions – yet his trust was completely in GOD knowing that GOD would be able to deliver him and to protect him.

PRAY and TRUST.

Daniel’s Prayers were of thankfulness as well! IT was going to COST HIM to be thankful. It would cost him possibly his life but it did not stop him from going to God. He did not love his life more than he loved God.

MATTHEW 16:25 WHOEVER WANTS TO SAVE HIS LIFE WILL LOSE IT, BUT WHOEVER LOSES HIS LIFE FOR MY SAKE WILL FIND IT.

Then Jesus told His disciples, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me. 25For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. 26What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?…

This story is so famous and most Christians know it but how many of us today truly go down on our knees at the cost of our lives, trusting GOD to the point of being willing to be eaten alive?

Another thing that is jumping out to me now in the spirit is that Daniel did not only start trusting and praying to God when he was in trouble. He simply just did as he had done before. It was part of his Life, something he did everyday without fail because GOD was truly GOD in his life.

DANIEL 6:10 JUST AS HE HAD DONE BEFORE
Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.

Have you made God, GOD of your life? Who do you pray to 3 times a day – what is your trust in, is it God or are there things/ work/ even people that have taken the place of “GOD” in your life?

I pray for you and me that I would always be able to have a Daniel in the Lion’s Den kind of Faith which is actually simply “TRUSTING” In God. But How can you trust in someone that you do not know? And how do you know someone if you do not spend the time to talk to the person and understand the person’s heart?

TRUST (Faith) comes with TIME and the spending of it in TALKING WITH ( PRAYING TO) GOD and I know that every single time I took even 5 mins of my day to come to his presence with “Here I am Lord”, he never failed to embrace me and fill me with his presence and feed me with his word.

May NO WOUNDS be found on you today – because you had trusted in your GOD ! 🙂
