Discernment – Is the Spirit, Holy?

In prayer today I prayed for discernment about ministries and what is holy spirit or not and what is of God or not and how to tell who is really a disciple of Jesus and suddenly it became clear how to see – that even in “moves of the spirit” and “anointing and power” falling on people the thing to look out for is not just signs and wonders and healing but if demons are being cast out – cause like Jesus said, satan cannot cast out Satan, so if those ministers are only performing signs and wonders and healing but not actually casting demons out and doing deliverance, and if the whole “revival” there is no baptism and people dying to Christ, and demons cast out, it is questionable whether it is a move of God or a distraction to deceive the elect to focus on these signs and wonders but not actually being born again into the Kingdom of God.

A true revival and falling of the holy spirit would look like Acts in pentacost – when the holy spirit fell, they spoke in tongues – became bold for the gospel, and 3000 people were baptised. Revival results in Baptism of thousands and being filled in the holy spirit looks like speaking in new tongues and praising God. That has been what it looked like throughout the bible even from the old testament when the Holy Spirit fell on Saul, he also begun to prophesy. Throughout the bible, whenever the holy spirit came on someone, like Elizabeth, she praised God and Prophesied.

When the focus is on anything else other than to preach Jesus Christ Crucified on the cross, repentance and baptism – but on angelic encounters, power, anointing etc it is questionable whether it is from Jesus or Satan – who has always been about gaining power, building HIS OWN kingdom and army and followers – about gaining fame and popularity rather than coming to wash the feet of his disciples, going around freeing the captives, casting out demons and not making a show out of it.

Satan can do many of the things that looks like the Holy Spirit – he could turn the staff into snakes, he also could turn water into blood in Genesis. The difference between Satan’s signs and wonders and the holy spirit is the heart and motive – is it out of LOVE or is it for POWER ? Is it to bring people to be born again into the kingdom of God, do those signs and wonders lead people into Righteousness, peace and joy? If it is the work of the Holy Spirit, the Revival will lead people into Holiness and remove sin and the fruits of the spirit – self control etc will be there. If there is no self – control which is one of the fruits of the holy spirit, and people cannot control themselves most of the time and do not have righteousness peace and joy and sin is not removed from their lives, in other words they do not die to themselves and are not putting off their FLESH, then we have to discern and question if that is the HOLY SPIRIT – WHICH leads us into HOLINESS.

If there are manifestations of “Spirits” but it leads to sin and unholiness it is definitely false spirits and unclean spirits manifesting. The holy spirit would never lead you to fornication, adultery, lies, divorce, fights, disunity, offense etc…. the Holy spirit will always lead you into forgiveness, humbleness, and leads you into ALL TRUTH that is the HOLY SPIRIT. THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH.

The HOLY SPIRIT is a SPIRIT OF TRUTH – He will always lead you into ALL TRUTH. JESUS IS the way, the TRUTH and the LIFE! If the “Spirits” lead you to worship and focus on anyone other than JESUS ( the leaders of the movements etc), it makes you question if it is the Holy Spirit – because the Spirit of Truth is the Spirit of Jesus which is the Spirit of God – and he will lead you to Jesus.

The heart behind Apostle Paul when he said some water the seeds, some sow, and some harvest – man why are you looking at us as if we are the ones who healed this man? It is by the name of Jesus whom you crucified that this man walks! This should be the heart of anyone who heals in the name of Jesus- to give God all the glory and never to act as if the power is because of them. We cannot even take credit for the harvest because God is the one that sends the rain and sun and he is the one that brings some to sow, some to plant, some to harvest. It is by GRACE that you have been saved and everything is not by works, so that no man can Boast.

GOD HATES BOASTING ! PRIDE and boasting is really the heartbeat of Satan where he thinks HE is GOD and HE is KING. When that spirit enters believers and leaders, it is the #1 temptation and downfall of leaders. The higher you go, the lower you must bow. The higher God brings you in this world, the lower you bow to God in humility acknowledging everything comes from HIM – lest you fall into the same spirit of pride as Satan did – where he started to think that all the glory and worship was for HIM and he wanted it for himself when it should have been all given to GOD who is the ONLY GOD and ONLY KING.

These days, everyone wants to be a “gods” in their own eyes they think that they are in control over their lives but it is even a sin to make such declarations and plans in James it is says what is our lives that we dare to make such plans? We can only say – if it is the will of God! God Willing, we are still alive to do this and that.

Was looking for when Elizabeth prophesied when I noticed this. I remembered Jesus saying that John was Elijah, but only noticed now that in the beginning of Luke, the angle already said that John would be FILLED with the Holy Spirit and that he will come in the SPIRIT and POWER of ELIJAH!!!

‘for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He is never to take wine or other fermented drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even before he is born. And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the parents to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous—to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.” He will bring back many of the people of Israel to the Lord their God. ‘

This is what it looks like to be filled with the Holy Spirit – you will turn the hearts of parents to their children and disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous and to make ready a people prepared for the Lord. Bringing people TO THE LORD.

When Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit, she praised God and in a loud voice exclaimed ” Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!”

for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. In a loud voice she exclaimed: “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear! But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!” ‘

When Paul placed his hands on believers after they were baptized to recieve the holy spirit, they spoke in tongues and prophesied!

‘When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied. On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. ‘
Acts 19:5-6

When the Spirit of the Lord came on the prophets and Saul, they all prophesied!
‘so he sent men to capture him. But when they saw a group of prophets prophesying, with Samuel standing there as their leader, the Spirit of God came on Saul’s men, and they also prophesied. So Saul went to Naioth at Ramah. But the Spirit of God came even on him, and he walked along prophesying until he came to Naioth. He stripped off his garments, and he too prophesied in Samuel’s presence. He lay naked all that day and all that night. This is why people say, “Is Saul also among the prophets?” Saul was told about it, and he sent more men, and they prophesied too. Saul sent men a third time, and they also prophesied. ‘
