I wrote this song in 2012 when I was overwhelmed at my new life in Christ, and was thinking about how “before I knew God” , before I was born again through Jesus Christ and had received the Holy Spirit, I personally in such turmoil and darkness.

Writing this song in Chinese is also kind of a miracle for the fact that I can’t really speak and write Chinese well. Growing up in an english speaking family and school, the only time I spoke Chinese was usually to ask my Chinese teacher if I could go to the restroom >-< .

However it was later in life that I spent many late nights at karaoke and having friends read out the chinese words to me that I had the influence of these ballads. Most often, the lyrics are sad and about heartache, pain and lost.

When I found God, or rather, He found me – I found myself singing a different tune… one filled with thankfulness for His Love. I wrote this song line by line first thinking of what I wanted to say in English, and then using google translate to help me express what I tried to say in Chinese Rhyme.

While this song has not been edited and I am guessing I have probably made some serious language errors, the heart behind the song is one of Renewal and I pray that if you are led to listen to it, that you will encounter the love of God, the Hope we have in Jesus Christ, the Grace and love we have been showed and given.
