Baptisms and my 7 Year old daughter

My daughter Aletheia is 7 years old and yesterday when I was baptising a dear sister in my bath tub, Aletheia knocked on the door and so I let her in and asked her to also lay hands and pray for S with me.

After S got up, she said she felt like something went out of her and she got lighter, and then she was filled and became heavy, and felt tingling all over her body.

Acts 2:38 says if you repent and are baptized in to Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins, you will receive the Holy Spirit – so I prayed for her to also be baptized in the Holy Spirit and I could see that she was already filled but had not yet spoken in tongues.

Aletheia and I both held her hands and we started to pray in tongues together and there it was – it flowed out of her and she was shocked herself that she was not making it up.

Acts 2:17 says in the last days, God will pour out his spirit on all flesh and to those he pours out on – will be able to receive dreams and visions.

I asked her to pray in tongues and ask God for a word for me and immediately she saw a vision of a red heart, the words faith and grace , and later a dove. She was shocked herself.

You see – God speaks loud and clear! She had been in church for years but did not know she had to be baptised in water and spirit.

John 3:3 Jesus says that truly you cannot see the kingdom of God unless you are born again in water and spirit. This is true even if you’ve said a sinner’s prayer or been attending church your whole life! Because that does not mean you are born again.

I never had the Holy Spirit till 12 years ago when I truly repented from my sins and encountered God and wanted to follow Jesus. I never knew how to hear the voice of God and the only dreams I got were nightmares. I went ti church and read my bible every week as a child but it meant nothing and I understood and felt nothing. Just rules and traditions forced upon me by my father who also did not have the Holy Spirit.

I’ve been reading the book of Acts to My children because it’s the first book where It shows you what it means to follow Jesus – the life of a disciple is one that preaches the gospel and baptises people in water and spirit, and prays for them to be healed and set free from oppression.

I have been baptising people in my studio for the last 2 years but now that we have moved homes and I did it in my house yesterday, I’m so glad Aletheia got to be a part of it.

Yes, she has been baptised in water and the spirit as well. There is no Junior Holy Spirit. She has had dreams and visions that amaze me till this day.

Why am I suddenly sharing this after 2 years? I feel like it’s time to be unashamed of the gospel. Too many people I meet and know have been lost and struggling even as they seek God and genuinely want to please him. They think that they said a sinner’s prayer and go to church and why is their life still not changing?

Read the book of acts. Everyone who believed the gospel was immediately baptized. This is not symbolic but spiritually significant. Baptism is the new covenant act of circumcising of our old life. A burial of your old life. A following of Jesus to the cross to be co crucified with him so that you can be risen to a new life.

When you receive the Holy Spirit, it is the spirit that gives you this new life – setting you free from sin and death such that you are no longer a slave to sin but a slave to righteousness.

My friends did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed ? Have you buried your old life and died with Jesus so that you can rise with him to a new one? ❤️
